Research Research in sports cardiology is performed at SMCPapendal. The international recommendations on sports cardiology, accredited by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) are not evidence based and largely rely on expert opinion. Research in sports cardiology at SMCP is valuable to improve knowledge and evidence in the management of athletes with and without cardiac disease.
